What is Webitor?
Webitor is a computer program that is installed on your website that allows you to edit your website pages. It is designed to give everyday website owners control over managing their website.
How to access Webitor:
- Open internet explorer on your computer and go to your website.
- At the very bottom of your website you will see a link: Webitor®, click this link.
- You will see a new popup window.
- Enter your password and click "Login".
- Your website will now load in Webitor; notice the tool bar at the top and left side of the screen, these are your editing tools.
- Your website is now unlocked and ready for you to make changes.
First time using webitor?
At first you may not know where to start and you may be worried about "breaking" something, never fear nothing is permanent on the web! If you make mistakes, you can simply exit from Webitor and not save your changes. We also keep backup versions of your website so if you accidentally save a mistake we can restore the page to its original state.- Start small and try changing some text
- Click somewhere in your existing text and start typing.
- Click the "Save Draft" button () located top left, at any stage and your changes will saved in Webitor. (They cannot be seen by anyone visiting the website).
- When you're ready to make your changes live on the internet click the "Save & Publish" button. Everyone will see your changes instantly.
